Massage

What is Therapeutic Massage?
Therapeutic Massage is the manipulation of muscles, tendons, and fascia of the body.  With Therapeutic Massage, a therapist applies the appropriate amount of pressure to relieve tension in the soft tissue.  It incorporates a variety of strokes to improve muscle tightness and joint stiffness.  It also improves circulation thus increasing healing time of damaged muscles.  A massage can also benefit your blood pressure, digestion, boost your immune system and skin tone. Pre and Post Natal Massages available. Treat both mom and baby to the wonderful benefits of a pregnancy massage session.

If you suffer from any of the following disorders, you may benefit from Therapeutic Massage:
• Any chronic muscle or joint pain
• Chronically fatigued muscles
• Low energy level, especially when accompanied by muscle aches and pains
• Anxiety
• Arthritis (both osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis)
• Asthma and Bronchitis
• Chronic and acute pain
• Circulatory problems
• Depression
• Headache, especially when due to muscle tension
• Immune function disorders
• Insomnia
• Reduced range of motion
• Stress
• Sports injuries

How many sessions will I need?
The number of session is different for each client.  For acute tension relief, once a week might be needed, whereas less stress might only require very 3-4 weeks.  If it is an injury that has brought you in, that is assessed by individual evaluation.

What can I expect from a treatment?
All treatments take place in a warm, comfortable, quiet room.  The practitioner will take a brief health history then leave the room while you undress and relax on the massage table.  You will be properly draped at all times, exposing only the area that is being worked upon.  The only thing we ask of you, the client, is to not hesitate in speaking up if you are at all uncomfortable with the deepness, lightness, or quality of touch.  The therapist will primarily use their hands, but may also use their forearms or elbows.  Your comfort is our top priority.

What can I expect afterwards?
Relaxation is our goal.  If, however, you have had some deep massage done on very tight or injured areas, you might experience some soreness and tenderness the next day.
